If you have ever fantasised about upping sticks and living in France then this is the place to come and live the dream – even if it’s only for a week or so. 4 rue de la Dive is an eighteenth century Manoir nestled in 17 hectares of land that has been lovingly and authentically restored. It offers a beautifully tranquil retreat where you can while away hours in the pool or on the tennis court, stroll through the grounds or amble into town, basket in hand across the footpaths through the fields.
Featured in House Beautiful magazine the two lovingly restored gîtes are both crammed full of character including exposed beams, fireplaces and original floor tiles. They have been furnished and equipped to a very high standard and include all baby and toddler equipment as standard. To make your stay as relaxing as possible you can use the pre-arrival shopping service to arrive to a fully stocked fridge and have home cooked meals delivered to your gîte – and not only will Deirdre and Pete prepare a delicious four course meal but they lay the table ready for you to eat and clear away all the dirty dishes - a house-keeper and chef all rolled into one!
In addition guests can enjoy the use of a tennis court (all weather), swimming pool (from June to Septmeber) and bikes for all the family (some with childseats) – use them to explore the surrounding countryside or cycle to town for lunch. There are swings, a sandpit and tonnes of toys to keep children happy and guests in La Grange have use of the fantastic private playroom adjoining the gîte which is bursting with toys and activities for kids. In fact with town a short stroll away you could easily spend a week here without every having to get into your car.
Location:
The property is situated on the outskirts of Trun in Orne, Lower Normandy - a typical small French town with a range of shops, restaurants and banks and a weekly market every Thursday. Ten minutes by car will get you to a large hypermarket in Argentan. The gîtes are completely independent and are available to rent separately or can be hired together at a discounted rate for larger groups.
