4 rue de la Dive is an eighteenth century former farm set in 17
hectares of land in the heart of Orne, Basse Normandie. It is a
beautiful holiday retreat suitable for a family or group of three
to eight members (max. five adults) and caters perfectly for babies, toddlers and older
children. In addition to the accommodation guests can also enjoy
the use of a tennis court, swimming pool, acres of land to explore
and bikes for all the family.
Location:
Number Four is situated in the small commune of Magny on the outskirts
of Trun. It falls within the department of Orne and is within 55
minutes of the coast and 45 minutes from Caen. See directions page
for more details.
Trun is a typical small French town with a range of shops including
three bakeries, a butchers, supermarket, traditional grocers and
a bank with cash machine. There is a weekly market every Thursday
and ten minutes by car will get you to a large hypermarket in Argentan.
Layout:
Set apart from the main house, the former coach house has been
converted into spacious holiday accommodation which has been beautifully
and authentically restored . An integral part of the accommodation
is a large playroom equipped with toys, creative play, books and
puzzles. It is for the private use of gîte guests and is accessible
from the living area but also opens out into the enclosed courtyard
where you can enjoy outside games or just relax in the sun.
The swimming pool is situated outside of the enclosed area and
is securely fenced. It is a coldwater pool and is operational from
June to September. The tennis court has an all weather surface which
guests are welcome to use at any time. There are plenty of bikes
some with child-seats so you can enjoy exploring the surrounding
countryside or cycle to town for lunch.
